Those who are allowed to travel to Malaysia with the required vaccination status will now benefit from a reduced quarantine period following changes implemented by the government of Malaysia.
For travellers who have received their booster dose the quarantine period is now 5 days.
Fully vaccinated travellers (but have yet to receive their booster dose) will be required to quarantine for 7 days.
Travellers who have not been fully vaccinated or not vaccinated will be quarantined for 10 days.
For those that have been vaccinated with a booster dose (including those aged 12 to 17), the rules are:
- Five-day quarantine
- Must be negative via a RT-PCR test two days before travel
- Subject to a RT-PCR test on arrival
- Subject to a RT-PCR test on the fourth day or alternatively, an RTK-Antigen test carried out by a qualified health worker on the fifth day.
- Released from quarantine if negative via RT-PCR test on the fourth day, or RTK-Antigen test on the fifth day.
For those who have had their primary vaccine dose but have had no booster to date, the rules are:
- Seven-day quarantine
- Must be negative via a RT-PCR test two days before travel
- Subject to a RT-PCR test on arrival
- Subject to a RT-PCR test on the fifth day or alternatively, an RTK-Antigen test carried out by a qualified health worker on the seventh day.
- Released from quarantine if negative via RT-PCR test on the fifth day, or RTK-Antigen test on the seventh day.
For travellers without any vaccination history or with an incomplete dose, the rules are:
- Ten-day quarantine
- Must be negative via a RT-PCR test two days before travel
- Subject to a RT-PCR test on arrival
- Subject to a RT-PCR test on the eighth day or alternatively, an RTK-Antigen test carried out by a qualified health worker on the tenth day.
- Released from quarantine if negative via RT-PCR test on the eighth day, or RTK-Antigen test on the tenth day.
